Re: The Video Games Thread

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

I think The Pacific is possibly due a reappraisal. Not knowing it was going to be so unlike BoB probably actually made it an impossible position. Watching it without comparisons to BoB I think it could stand up alright I'd say the difference in tone is in line with historical accuracy. Morale among...

This is good, The New Yorker reviews Transformers 5 and gives it the high-brow treatment, finding something artistic to admire among the wreckage.

A) I don't think there is a hope in hell that Corbyn would pull out of Brexit. He might go for a softer Brexit though, make more concessions. Do you think there are any circumstances in which they would hold the referendum again? Like not in the sense "we didn't get the answer we wanted last time, ...

Re: What's on your mind?

Yeah I reckon they'll pull back from the brink sooner or later. One hypothetical: May's government will collapse, either due to the DUP or something else. Corbyn will become PM after general election, he will say Brexit has to go on. The back bench and/or the media and/or the public will say no we w...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

Have been catching the Band of Brothers repeats here and there on Sky, seen it a zillion times but it's always great.

Thinking about watching The Pacific now, which I recall was not nearly as good and extremely grim.

Would I be wasting my time or is it due a reappraisal?

Tarantino lined up to direct Star Trek?

Lads, we 100% traversed to a parallell universe at some stage the past few years.

Nothing makes any sense.

House of Cards coming back without Spacey for final season. Wonder how they'll write him out.
Maybe Tom Hammerschmidt will push him in front of a train.

Infinity War then; good trailer, will be a huge success. Gonna get on a Marvel buzz and rewatch loads of them the next while. They'll clearly go for a an Empire Strikes Back vibe, Thanos will "win" and some big names are gonna get kilt. I still think it'll be Steve Rogers in a self-sacrifice, and th...

Infinity War trailer out later on.

This is great. Some right-wing freaks called Project Veritas tried to plant a story in the Washington Post, that would damage the newspaper itself if they had run it. Lying fake news MSM etc. BUT the plant got caught out by the reporters in the most comical way, and confronted. https://www.washingto...
