I'd say Soairse is a far better actress than Emma Stone. Wont be watching Stones movie this year though so can't say how the performances stack against each other.
For Woody Allen reasons?

I, Tonya is very, very good. Margot Robbies performance is better than McDormand and Ronan too.
Margot Robbie is such a brilliant actress. Ronan was probably the weakest in the category this year because you had the likes of Judi Dench and Emma Stone who were also amazing

BoB is probably the greatest TV show ever made in my opinion. It's almost perfect in so many ways.

I'd agree with you there

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

I saw The Last Jedi and thought it was grand I'm a bit disappointed that Luke went out the way he did. I would have liked more Luke in the next film. He was also a bit out of character in this one. Isn't Luke supposed to be humble and kind? I get it's 'character development' like but still Also, if ...

Infinity War then; good trailer, will be a huge success. Gonna get on a Marvel buzz and rewatch loads of them the next while. They'll clearly go for a an Empire Strikes Back vibe, Thanos will "win" and some big names are gonna get kilt. I still think it'll be Steve Rogers in a self-sacrifice, and t...

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

I also think a problem with Marvel vs DCEU is that the Marvel ones were 'fun' (or at least had moments of comic relief that felt natural) from the get go whereas the DC films tried that old 'Make it dark at the expense of it making any sense for the characters' shite. Now that they want to inject a ...

Justice League has some of the worst CGI I have ever seen. It was so bad, it was actually distracting to the point where I missed what characters were saying because I was too busy thinking 'What the fuck is wrong with his face?' or 'How did a film that cost THIS MUCH look so fucking bad?' Steppenw...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

Anyone see Nowhere Fast last night, RTE's latest stab at a sitcom. With the emphasis on stab. Christ, it was fucking terrible. The main one, Alison Spittle, who also wrote and created it, cant act for shit. It looks awful, camera and lighting is total garbage and the dialogue was painful. Comedy or...

watched the 1st two episodes of Big Mouth. It's pretty fucked. kinda fitting with it being Nick Kroll. Was gonna avoid it cause of his involvement, but someone suggested it to me. It's alright

essentially a cartoon that delves straight into puberty

Watched Mother! At the weekend too. Thought it was fucking muck. It looks great and Lawerence is great in it, and same as yourself I was happy to stay with it up to a point, but.... when you realise that the film is not about Jennifer Lawrence's character as much ch as it lets on, but is actually a...

EU seems very impressed with the UK at the minute.... Or not Also tore the UK apart for their stance on the NI/RoI border issues. it's just getting worse and worse. have a feeling that there will be enough pressure for some kind of second referendum, but how do you explain all elements of the final...

I thought she was a bellend at the time but with time, I remembered she was just a stage school kid and everyone is a bellend when you're a stage school kid. I'm sure she is/hope she is okay now

well i didn't exactly love mel & sue but i didn't hate them either very surprised at how well noel & sandi are going together. they're kind of well suited to this. it's bizarre Apparently Noel is a genuine fan of the show so I wouldn't have thought he was going to play up his Vince Noir schtick in ...

Re: GOT Thread

So that slightly random scene with Bronn and Podrick, where he puts his arm around him, and says, "lets you and me go have a pint"... is that purely so that Bronn and Cersei didn't have to share screen time, cos they fucking hate each other in real life and need to be kept apart at all times? Lola?...

Great British Bake Off is back and it's as good as before. they successfully moved it to channel 4. they changed 3 of the 4 core people, included noel fielding & it has ad breaks but it works! hurrah! plus noel managed to say moist clutch on telly I'm in the minority but I'm just so, so glad to see...
