Re: Do you like your job??

Working down in Galway the last couple of days including a fantastic free dinner in Cloonacauneen Castle and the office closing at 3.30 today to let people get home/go get ready for the Belfast Culture Night festivities - sometimes I do like my job

Re: What's on your mind?

Generally really like what Gary Lineker has to say on twitter, but never realised the constant abuse he takes, as I'm assuming any famous person probably does on twitter. I never read replies. Innocuous enough post, followed by a load of crap about refugees https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/91...

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

Finally got round to seeing IT. Really enjoyed it actually. Looking forward to reading the book now. It is kind of by the numbers but it's really well done by the numbers. Loved Pennywise but would maybe have liked to see less done by CGI and more physical stuff?

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

I watched First They Killed My Father at the weekend on the Netflix. About the Khmer Rouge and Cambodian genocide. Directed by Angelina Jolie. Pretty much as you'd expect. Very visually stunning in parts as well. All in Cambodian so subtitled but you could probably almost watch it without the dialog...

Re: What's on your mind?

Is Hanoi worth the visit as well? Or Ha Long Bay? Would probably have time to head up to the north as well if not spending a huge amount of time around Ho Chi Minh. Also keeping an eye on the evolving situation in Cambodia with the elections coming up and opposition leaders being arrested and newspa...

Re: What's on your mind?

Awesome guys thanks. The only bits I've fully booked so far are the flights from Dublin to Bangkok then the flight from Bangkok to Phuket and from Ho Chi Minh back to Bangkok. So still a bit flexible on where to go I Phuket area and how long to spend in each still

Re: What's on your mind?

Off to Phuket area of Thailand for about a week to start, then over to Siem Reap in Cambodia for a few nights and finally into Ho Chi Minh for about a week also but not really worked out whether to stay there or travel around some, possibly even travel up to Hanoi via motorbike or something. Then sp...

Booked the honeymoon today. That's helped lighten up a wintery week of being back in work and the dark evenings closing in.

EU seems very impressed with the UK at the minute.... Or not Q: Can you tell us more about what you want Britain to say about its financial obligations? Barnier says this is very important. He says EU leaders agreed on a seven-year budget. David Cameron signed it when he was prime minister. He says...

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

Was looking a book in the airport the other day for my flights and they had a new release of It everywhere obviously linked to the new movie. Ended up chickening out and going for a John Grisham book cos I thought it might be a bit more manageable and light for flights. But I realised I've never act...

Re: Do you like your job??

Working in the environmental sector has been a fairly bumpy ride with all sorts of ups and downs and threats of redundancy or the business closing etc, but we just won a new project. It's a 3 year one which is based around using renewable energy to provide hydrogen to power public transport networks...

Re: Do you like your job??

Congrats Eoin! From what you say I'd take that redundancy - it seems a pretty good package and should tide you over for a decent amount of time. Is it taxed do you know? My dad (who had been with the same company for almost 40 years) got a redundancy which was something like 3 years final salary tax...
