Re: The Book Thread

Bought Chris Ware's latest, Monograph.
It's gigantic, bigger than Building Stories, which was already ridiculously big. Gonna need a bigger shelf.

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

I think this has been discussed already but Ready Player One looks fucking terrible. The book is fucking laughably bad. I read about 20 pages of it and had to put it down. It reads like a 10 year old's school essay. It's woeful. I endured the audio book. If they make a good film it will be some ach...

Watched HBOs new 2hr documentary about Spielberg the other night. It's basically him and other key people discussing his career, one film at a time.

Highly recommend it, very satisfying watch. You can download it on the Sky machine.

Re: Film Discussion Thread *NO SPOILERS*

Watched The Death of Stalin last night. It's really funny, quite dark at times aswell. Farcical squabbling over mass executions. Also, Armando Iannucci just hinted on twitter that The Thick of It is coming back. "I have good news later for those asking for Malcolm Tucker on Brexit." Some people int...

Re: Do you like your job??

Ah k, 'cause I would call that in itself security. I guess. The last two years have been ropey. My contract is year to year and for the duration of the project. For five years my projects ran right into each other and I had continuous unbroken employment. For the last two years the state body issui...

7 years in the same place, or industry?
Take it if you're happy with it.
Same place. Have been trying to make transition out of it for ages. Started a masters this year to help me make a move.

Feels like a massive win.

Loving Mindhunter. Glad to know there will be more.

Vice Principals has been amazing this season
Walter Goggins being humiliated by his sisters was some of the most disturbing scenes I've seen in a while. He's amazing.

Re: Do you like your job??

I have been offered a job and I'm really happy about it. I've been slugging away in the community sector at kinda poor pay with zero security for over 7 years. I have no experience in playing ball with companies and asking for an increase in the offer. The offer is generous to my eyes, it exceeds th...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

GBBO Found my interest waning this week, not really rooting for any of the remaining candidates. I don't want Steven to win. He wasn't all that shit hot this week anyway. Stacey's work looks ugly as sin. Sophie must know she's out of her league. Would be funny if she suddenly pulled it out of the ba...

Re: TV Show Discussion Thread

Must give that a go.

I have a raspberry pi running retropie at the moment

Think it should be easy to run Kodi on it.

I've kind of gotten out of the habit of live TV, only time I miss it is for GBBO.
